Yes I know you ♥♥♥ the title, so sorry for baiting you with an ambiguous sex joke.

You know, sometimes I almost believe karma exist. For some good time now I plan to buy my own sim to make a new headquarter for my activities. Well, sparing the details, my ex-GF Fallon popped into my IM with the big question: “Will you take my sim?”. Stunned I was especially after several months of no-talky. She made me an offer I just could not refuse, considering I was already intending to buy a sim at regular price. Basically I had to pay the transfer fees of 100$ and she gave me the sim, which has been transferred to me a week ago. So I am now the mommy of a less than a year old full Class 5 baby.

This sim will be the new headquarters for all my operations, hosting events and parties for the Code Red crew, the OPC store, selected designers, and the new Code Red gallery, where I will move the exclusive Boudoir Rouge collection for sale. The sim will also host my studios where I will continue my photography work. The old Code Red land in Strata is going to be resold and the old Code Red build demolished after more than 1 year of loyal services, hosting some of the most incredible parties to have hit the grid.

Some of you may have heard it’s no one than building designer luminary Eshi Otawara that is in charge of terraforming and building the whole sim. This is absolutely true, Eshi asked me if she could do it, so I gave her the list of my needs, and the keys to be Estate Manager. I can assure you I have absolutely no regret of doing so, because the results are already stunningly fantastic.

Through a handful of friends have already seen the incomplete build, Eshi is heading toward completion in the next days, we asked our visitors to refrain from spoiling the surprise and not publish pictures of the sim until we do the official launch. The sim is currently locked to Code Red members. But those who have had the chance to see it are pretty much unanimous: this sim is probably one of the most unique and amazing you may have never seen in SL.

Even if not completed, Eshi surpassed herself in skills and imagination and created one of the most completely surreal and innovative environments you could ever imagine.

The launch will happen real soon, exact date remains to be confirmed. A communique is being prepared and will be sent, along with a VIP press pass, to a select list of media representatives and bloggers. The event may be VIP (group members only) so make sure to request me an add to the group if you don’t want to miss probably what will be the most epic bash of Code Red’s history.

Code Red will finally emerge as what I always wanted it to be, a place where it is fantastic to live and hang out, free of the mainland ugliness and parcel size limitations, forcing us to pile up. I wanted a place where art can not only exist, but live and evolve. In the next days Code Red will morph into a beautiful red butterfly, and you my friends will be the witnesses.

…Codie is way too busy and tired to blog efficiently lately. I like being calm and rational, alert, and well rested while I post something, unless it is a rant. A long, ferocious tirade that ends on no constructive conclusion.

But this is not one of those posts. You around me all knows how crazy hectic it is for me lately. So many things happening in a short time, in both lives. I will spare you the RL crap apart to say im getting help for my lack of sleep and plan to rest more. And my SL is always more and more amazing as it goes, the ♥♥♥, the people, the fire of creativity burning holes into my soul… I am one fuckin lucky betch to have you all in my life, supporting me in such a caring way it leaves me weeping with bliss. I am humbled, honored, and devoid of words to tell how grateful I am to everyone around me. Thank you all, so much.

I’m rushing to finish the Boudoir Rouge series, about 25 left to do, and started scrambling again with the MachinimaCam codebase. We are in the last days of organizing the art exhibits at SL5B, task made maybe a little bit more heavy on my heart with all the surrounding drama. I will refrain of commenting furthermore until this event is done, not by fear or even by ethics, but because it drained me so fucking much I decided to go with the “Let’s do this and get on with it” attitude. Which is not exactly what I expected by volunteering for what is supposedly a resident ran event. Through all of this I managed to setup the Boudoir Rouge kiosk, and the China Red kiosk on the Asian Culture sim. Despite that little sadness in my heart, I will try and focus on the positive, the art, the people, and making sweet new friends.

They have been created by Alexx Markova on special order. 40 new poses have been custom made by Alexx for the remaining of the Boudoir Rouge series. This set focuses mainly on back shot poses, lingerie and intimate poses, as well as more classic pinup and boudoir style poses.

One important thing about those poses is they have been created and ajusted to fit my own avatar shape which is more curvy than the average woman shapes, making them fit for the round women as well as thinner ones.

I throughly reviewed, tested and made correction requests to avoid any limb or finger collision, cause as little articulation deformation as possible, and minimize clothing glitches as much as possible. With such tough revision cycle, I wanted to insure that I would have poses which requires less postprocessing.

This poseset is the product of a close collaboration with Alexx Markova and myself for all aspects of the process. Alexx did the all the execution and I helped him review and correct the poses for better photography usage. Of course I’m proud of having the opportunity to bring you this very special poseset.

I really hope you will enjoy those poses as much as I enjoyed working with them.

Today Shockwave Plasma asked me if I had a personal logo, like the one that belongs to Tateru Nino. Tho I surely don’t have the cult following Tateru has, Shockwave surely thinks I’m hawt shit for asking me such a thing. Apart my standard signature, I don’t have a distinctive mark that can represent me.

I surely don’t have the time right now to design a logo for my personal use. Tho, it would be surely lovely to have something unique I could appose to my work or use around for fun, like a graffiti tag. So I had this idea that it could be a really fun to do a little contest, and ask for you lovely people to design a logo for myself.

The prizes:

• 1st prize: L$4000 cash, 1 MachinimaCam HUD, 1 Sakura Blossom Emitter, all Dramavatar eyes (78 pairs) and shirts (60 shirts), and a big valentine smooch from Codie

Lots of things going on so I didn’t take time to blog much lately, sorry for depriving my faithful viewers of my almost daily delirium.

I think I made it with 1st place on that Avastar of the Year poll, tho the votes from the Avastar island aren’t counted so I don’t know who wins yet. This will be presented at the Award Ceremony January 16, 09:00 SLT, at The AvaStar (107, 219, 80). This would fall straight in the middle of my work day so I don’t even think I can attend. Which kinda sucks.

Apart that I’m working on a new photoshoot for a Bubblefish/Atomic Soda ad campain. Pictures looks awesome until now, I’m looking at two other shootings that needs to be done before the set is complete. I’m also working on their new logo which should be done soon.

I’m preparing a new artsy photo set to put exclusively in the new Code Red 3.0 building, which I will inaugurate soon if everything goes well. The new build is all made with 32×32 megaprims and is only using 75 prims, compared to the 400 needed for the previous build. It’s also much well organized and more clean, at least to my own taste. I will also re-manage the actual collection to keep only the best of the best for your viewing pleasure.

I’m of course working my ass off to finish the latest MachinimaCam version, for which I will need beta testers soon. I keep adding new stuff but I want this brew to be completely workable and bug fixed before releasing it. It is promising tho, since it allows amazing expansion compared to the previous version. Be sure I will keep you posted.

MachinimaCam sales have been a huge success. Customers have been generous of their time suggesting new features, reporting bugs, and generally being good to deal with. I sold enough MachinimaCam HUDs to finance the future developments, so I decided it was time to make a move for the community. Since MachinimaCam 0.12 is on the way to be shipped and much of the hardest part of developing the MCAPI framework is done, I want to give an early season gift to all of those who supported the development of this device.

I would ♥♥♥ to thanks the hundreds of customers that supported the development efforts on this device, and to tell them those efforts have not been vain. The new system will allow dozens of new effects to be added to the device, and extensions way beyond what was previously intended. Watch this blog for more news on the next release.

I now have a completely independent interface script, core script, and a pair of working effects. I can say most of the huge crazy slice of work is done.

One very good news, since the changes, the new camera prototype operates as much as twice as fast than the old one, due probably to reduction of the script size, and link message showing to be efficient. Also probably because of each effect being isolated in their own script, that helps.
Another good news, silent commands. You won’t hear gesture commands in the live chat anymore, everything operates on chanel 444 now (changeable by the user). So you can pass commands with /444command and those will still be silent too. In fact there will be no display at all neither in the history or in chat, only on the HUD.

That’s about it for the updates now, I will come back for more when there’s more of it done. Next step: isolate all of the existing effects, finish a few addon plugins, refine the MCAPI messaging system and code a few new effects for your enjoyment. I got a pile of nifty suggestions for the future, I guess I will have to write a roadmap soon.

Just a quick update on the MachinimaCam development. Well it’s going on roundly, I believe I am rather close to completion of the MCAPI framework. Of course there’s much try and testing to do but I’m slowly but surely closing in to something workable. I achieved complete interface separation.

Now all voice/gesture commands and menus are independent. I’m rather proud of my menu system which will allow very easy addons for plugins. The menus are now uniformized and consistent. I’m working hard on the API structure itself, I have a few things to figure out yet but it’s all going in the good direction.

After that is done, I will be ready to move all the effect routines in independent scripts and do more testing for usability and consistency. As for the intercom architecture, I will have it worked and extended while I add on the most popular feature requests, namely targeting other avatars and maby some other surprises.

I really hope I will have a somewhat functional demo this weekend. If it’s the case, of course, you will know about it.
