Jori Watler has always been a great friend to Codie and I. She is, simply, family. So, when she offered to create an exclusive Rouge version of her gorgeous “Dream” Ensemble, we were over-the-moon excited, but not at all surprised by her generosity.

Rouge sim opening: Press Conference

Art, Boudoir Rouge, Code Red, Content Creation, Events, Fashion, Interviews, My Friends, My Second Life, Rouge, Scripting / Building — CodeBastard Redgrave on June 29, 2008 at 10:34 am

CodeBastard “Codie” Redgrave, photography artist and content designer, has the immense pride and pleasure to announce that her brand new sim, Rouge, will open it’s doors to the public with a smashing huge party happening Saturday the 5th of July, starting at 2PM SLT. It will end up several hours later to accommodate friends from both the American and European timezones.

The Rouge store will include products from multiple content designers, of course most of it themed with the red color.

The new sim will be hosting various events, from art events to fashion shows, and will be available for rent to any organization needing it for holding special events. It is also an awesome leisure resort where Secondlifers can come anytime they want for a good time in good company, in a very spectacular setting. It is a VIP club but will be open to the public as soon as the sim is officially launched.

My butt featured on SLFP

Fashion, Funny, My Friends, My Second Life — CodeBastard Redgrave on May 17, 2008 at 6:12 am

Yeah I really thought Chief D. Rockin would catch me, handcuff me and put me on a public display of humiliation for all my fashion crimes. But no, seems she thinks I’m an exemplary citizen for not committing the ghetto booty crime. Being used as an example of good taste on the SLFP is oh my flattering. Thank you Chief D. Rockin for not handcuffing me. Oh, wait. That would have actually been real fun! Guess I should start hanging out with giant prim boobs not assorted to my skin and wearing a ton of visible from space blang if I want her to catch me and make me feel it good. Will work on that.

While then, read The do and don’t of booty on SecondLife Fashion Police blog.

Save Eris!

Hairspray is having a special blowout sale to help sweet Sinnocent Mirabeau to raise funds for an emergency operation on her puppy. Just go there and buy stuff, she promises 2 for 1 on everything. Also, donate a few lindens for her to rise it quickly, since the fees are hefty. A few people blogged it but I’m just spreading the word a bit more.

You can go to her store direct here: Hairspray SLURL

Here is a copy pasta of a notecard that was passed to me (removed image and landmark, use SLURL up here).

————————————————————-

Hi everyone.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this, but I figure my crisis and personal heartache can maybe have something good come out of it.  Hopefully for myself and for all the people in SL who like my hair or skins and want to get 2 for the price of one.

Anyways, here’s the deal.  I normally hold sales like this every few months just for kicks and as a fun way to get people even more hair than they’d normally be able to purchase on their own.  However, this sale is of great importance to me for other reasons.

A week ago my 9 month old baby puppy, Eris, (even tho she’s not so little anymore) started to have a mass growing in her ear.  I thought she had just gotten bitten by something outside and it would clear up in a few days.  Well that didn’t happen.  In fact, the mass got about 8x bigger.  So I took her to the vet yesterday and got the worst possible news :(

She didnt get bit.. she has a tumor and a hematoma forming in her ear and she needs surgery to remove it.  Otherwise it will just get bigger and bigger and will either.. rupture… get badly infected…. and most likely both will happen.. and the infection the doc said will eventually kill her.. sooner rather than later.

The even worse news is exactly how much it’s going to cost to save her…  Which is $1447.00 US.  I was in shock when given that figure because it is just not a price I can even close to afford.  I’m getting married in RL in September to my sl hubby and I’ve had to put most of my money towards that for deposits and all the other wedding junk that I need.

The irony is that she was my engagement present, and now… my wedding is the thing that has taken up all my money and put me in this spot.  :( Blah…

So at any rate I’ll get right to the point.. I have a very little window of time in order to raise the money to save her.. so I decided I would do a buy one get one free sale in order to try and help to get some of the money for her surgery.

Everything in my shop is eligible for the sale, nothing at all is excluded.  The basic idea is whatever you buy.. you get something of equal or lesser value.. free.

So if you buy a skin you can get a skin free or a couple hairs, doesnt matter.  Anything goes.

All you have to do is purchase what you want, then send me a notecard with what you purchased and which items you would like to receive free.  I will send them on out to you after that :)

But, I thank you all for your time and for the long read.  I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their week/weekend.

Thanks again,
SInnocent Mirabeau.. and Eris

Good luck Sinnocent and Eris, I’m sure you will make it! Much love.

Designer Love

Art, Boudoir Rouge, Code Red, Fashion, Flickr, My Friends, My Second Life, Product, Reviews — CodeBastard Redgrave on April 28, 2008 at 6:57 am

One thing I didn’t expect at all was that some designers would actually start spending their time designing me stuff. Well, I got served pretty good. Not only one, but two designers delivered me a very special gift in the same week.

I mentioned them before but I thought it deserved a post on their own, just to state on how much I felt honored by the gesture. Those lovelies actually spent HOURS of their precious time making this for lil old me? OK girls. You got me. I’m falling on my ass.

Beware, you peepz know I certainly don’t pretend to be anything like a fashionista or fashion blogger. So in a blocky fashion, here is a bit more about those incredible outfits, with pictures of myself modelling them, and stuff.

Codie’s Gown - From Nuclear Boutique

Sasy Scarborough introduced me to Arikinui Adria (AKA Ari), and in the first instant I talked to this adorable woman, I was charmed. It didn’t take long before I invited her to Boudoir Rouge, because her name means sophistication and beauty and sexy.

One night she totally blew my mind when I saw that item drop into my inventory. I saw the name and I was like, no fucking way! And I put it on and it was perfection.

I have a HARD time finding fitting system skirts, mainly because some designers don’t check their skirts on larger avatars, and they put the texture topping too low. Result is I end up with a ring of emptiness around the waist. Not with this one, it is a perfect fit.

Fluffy prims are attached on shins, making it hugging the legs pretty nicely. Very elegant soirée gown, probably one of the best I own. Honnest! Tho I admit there may be a bit of favoritism, I let you be the judges.

Codie’s Gown is available through this SLURL. Check Nuclear Boutique’s Blog for more info.

Codie Corset - Bluebell Fasions

How an amazing gift Roxette Wise made me for the Boudoir Rouge launch party. This 4 variation set of lingerie with corset is nothing short of amazing. I sure own a few lingerie sets, and this is one of the good ones. And well, the color scheme is so me ;)

Roxette posted about it on Bluebell Fashion’s blog.

Available on OnRez, SLX or inworld.

Also, I would like to mention that Dinee Ghia made me an adorable necklace using my logo. Picture of it follows. It’s lovely sweetheart, TY so so much, big smoochies!

Like if that was not enough, I heard some other things were on preparation for me. Will keep you posted as it comes. You people always amaze me. Much love.

Boudoir Rouge Photo Contest: Contest Closed

Art, Boudoir Rouge, Code Red, Content Creation, Contest, Events, Fashion, Flickr, My Friends, My Second Life, Photoshoots — CodeBastard Redgrave on April 1, 2008 at 11:45 am

Pool is closed for the Boudoir Rouge photo contest submissions. I will choose the winners and send the prizes tomorrow, as I is too tired. To see all the entries, check the Codie’s Redhawtness Flickr fan group.

Thank you so much to those who participated, all entries touched me to the deepest point. I’m so grateful that you people even took the time to participate, because I know it surely wasn’t for the meager prize money. You all took the time to picture me, and made me beautiful through your own eyes. This was for me the whole point of it, inverting the role I played as the photographer behind Boudoir Rouge, and making myself feel like a worthy model. To those who thought I was worth it, I lay on you millions of kisses and huggles. Love you.

Boudoir Rouge Opening: My most greatful thanks to all

Art, Boudoir Rouge, Code Red, Contest, Events, Fashion, Linden Labs, My Friends, My Second Life, Photoshoots — CodeBastard Redgrave on March 31, 2008 at 11:14 am

The opening was a very great success and an absolute delight to me, despite the Lindens having DB issues, overall that was probably the best event I have ever thrown at Code Red. Everyone was delightful and so sweet. This is a party I will always remember. Thanks to everyone that made this event possible. The sim was jam packed full all the time of the event, for the first 4 hours it was very hard to get in, my sim being a Mainland sim, we had 40 avatars in most of the time. The contest went awesome too, apart asset servers not collaborating at the beginning and preventing me from wearing other props, for the remaining time it went okay.

I would love to thank Amanda for playing the insane tunes, you girl rawked! I would like to thank Anna Tretiak again for providing the Photostage system for the contest. I want to thank Tesla so much too for providing an extra 2000L I will give out to a 4th photo contest winner and she also gave a free pair of shooz to every invitee. I would also like to thanks Bettina Tizzy of NPIRL very warmly for featuring me on a very elogious article and for spamming her group. ;)

Also, a very special thank you to Roxette Wise, who blew my mind by giving me a copy of a new lingerie set she made and named after my humble self! That totally blew my mind because not only she’s the first to design an outfit inspired of me and named after me, but it is also of an amazing detail and quality, it is outstanding. I saw that set and it’s an instant favourite, and it is so much me! She made it in 2 colors, Red/white and Red/black and you can get it SLURL here.

Here’s a back picture of the outfit, borrowed from Amanda’s submissions for the contest:

Codie's Best Ass-et

The contest is still accepting submissions to my Flickr fan group until tomorrow night at 9PM. Here is a lovely shot by Elease Graves that submitted this picture for the Boudoir Rouge photo contest:

Pure Bliss- CodeBastard Redgrave- By Elease Grave'08

Another key moment of my night was to have the rare occasion to see and chat with my dear Vint Falken, who was not in a very good mood to start with. But that filled my heart with joy when she told me that she was smiling before going to bed. I’m just so glad I could cheer her up a little, I felt really touched I could be helpful to her, her that is so dear to me. Vint, extra big huggles to you sweetheart. I’m always there if you need me. Much love to you.

That was so sweet, and heartwarming to see you all there, I’m speechless of the turnout, and of the honor you all made me. You people prove to me every time how deeply caring, admirable, and good friends you are. Thanks for supporting me and my work, especially in the worse times. I feel so deeply honored to know and be cared for by people of your quality. I highly appreciate, and humbly bow to your greatness. All of you talented and lovely friends, you mean everything to me. Forever, I shall cherish you all.

Love. Much love.
Codie
