So yeah, I use Kratom.

So for those that don’t know, in 2015 I was in a major car accident where I was hit in the rear at high speed by an idiot who was texting while I was sat at a traffic light. In the accident I received a huge back injury where 2 discs were fractured in my lower back. It was a tough time and in truth I never healed properly.

Each year when winter came around I would suffer pain in my back, this year has been particularly brutal and since the accident I have been prescribed many pain killers such as Voltaren, Vikadin, Mobric, Celemex and more… Between building up a tolerance and damage to my Kidneys and stomach ulcers caused by these drugs I have been forced to look into other options.

Looking online I came across a lot of people saying the same thing. People were all stating the same issues I had with pain killers as well as other problems such as addiction, cost, availability and Doctors not listening to patients needs.

People are all different and we all have different needs, yet the world of big pharma are all prescribing the same things to us. There has to be a better solution I thought, and I think I found it.

Kratom is a plant from southern asia, it’s used as a legal high in places such as Thailand by locals and tourists.

This is what I use, I used kratom for pain and it’s been brilliant! For the first winter since my accident I have been able to do the things I want, without being in pain. Even day to day tasks like walking from the grocery store to my car for the first time in years I have been able to walk without problems.

The strain I use is Bali Red. I also used Maeng Da as well as Bali White but I found Bali Red to be best for my personal needs. I don’t feel high or euphoric when I take it either which was a concern I had, I get the pain killing benefits and that’s it.

I cannot be happier with what I have found, a natural solution. No more pain. No more kidney problems or stomach ulcers either.

Kratom has helped me get my life back, and I don’t care what people think.

Electrical Safety Advice

When installing items such as out door lights, or working on new construction sites you need to pay attention to safety.

Electric is part of all our every day lives, but it’s also extremely dangerous to those working with it and those around you. Every year 10,000’s of deaths are caused by electrical failure, fires causes by electric installations and electrocutions from professional and DIY enthusiasts.

We have put together this advice with the intention of raising awareness. Please, when working with electric stay safe.

Safety Advice

Remember to switch off the mains power at the consumer unit.

Before starting any electrical work, stay safe – get yourself a socket tester (or voltage tester for lighting circuits). They confirm whether circuits are dead and safe to work on.

Check all finished work with a socket tester (or voltage tester for lighting circuits) before using.

For your safety, these products must be installed in accordance with local Building Regulations. If in any doubt, or where required by the law, consult a competent person who is registered with an electrical certification scheme. Further information is available online or from your local authority.

All new and modified installations must comply with the latest IEE Wiring Regulations. Either use an electrician registered with the self certification scheme prescribed in the regulations, or if you carry out the work yourself, you must notify your Local Authority Buidling Control Department to get your work inspected and tested.

Never take risks with electrical safety. Before you start any type of electrical work, you must follow these following safety precautions:

  • Switch off the main power at the consumer unit/fuse box. Isolate the circuit you plan to work on by removing the circuit fuse. Put this in your pocket to avoid accidental replacement.
  • Or switch off the breaker and lock it if you can.
  • Attach a note to the unit to advise you are working on the circuit.
  • Check the circuit is dead with a socket tester or voltage tester/meter for lighting circuits.

If you are unsure of what you are doing at any point, seek professional advice.

Using SEO to boost Search Engine Traffic to your Website!

Proper search engine optimization (SEO) is vital to the success of any site on the World Wide Web today – any webmaster or developer can tell you that. There are however several different processes that can be utilized when optimizing your website for search engine indexing; the method (or methods) that you choose to take advantage of are solely up to you.

Keyword Research is important! Use keywords in the titles of your web pages. You know that little blue bar at the top of your screen? Keywords placed there can help you page get noticed even more than keywords placed in the body of a page; though this doesn’t mean that you should refrain from using keywords in the body, as well – in fact, it’s just the opposite. Keywords work well in both the title and body of any webpage, and they should always be used in order to maximize your site’s exposure.

– Take advantage of the fact that web users commonly misspell words when searching on the internet, and try to use a couple common misspellings of your chosen keywords within your content, as well. This way you can even attract the users who have less than perfect spelling or grammar.

-Make sure to link all of your individual web pages to your main home page. The more links a particular page has going to it, the higher it will be displayed within any relevant search engine results. However, you’ll want to make sure that all of these internal and external hyperlinks are relevant to the type of content you provide, or your search engine ranking may actually go down.

-Create as many pages as possible, even if each page has only a short paragraph or two. The more pages your site has, the more likely it is to be found by users who are surfing the internet. But again, make sure that these pages actually pertain to the rest of your website’s content, or you may find it harder to attract genuine visitors.

-Use a reliable web hosting service. When it comes to the functionality of a webpage, there is nothing more damaging than downtime caused by a server malfunction or power outage with your web hosting company. And if your site is down when the search engine spiders come by in order to index your site, you’ll be out of luck – they only index the sites which they can actually access at that time.

Exclusive: Rouge “Dream” Ensemble by ala Mood

Jori Watler has always been a great friend to Codie and I. She is, simply, family. So, when she offered to create an exclusive Rouge version of her gorgeous “Dream” Ensemble, we were over-the-moon excited, but not at all surprised by her generosity.

The “Dream” Rouge Ensemble includes necklace, rings, cuffs – and as an added incentive – the matching earrings. The only place this set is available is at the Rouge Boutique and 50% of the proceeds benefit the Rouge Tiers fund.

The Rouge sim is owned by CodeBastard Redgrave and was designed and built by Eshi Otawara. Rouge is home to the CodeRed Lounge, Boudoir Rouge Gallery Walk, Rouge Boutique and the Mechanized Life main store.

Designers, interested in the Rouge Affiliate Program? Contact me for more information about offering your items in the Rouge Boutique. Many thanks to Jori for her continued friendship and patronage. Visit ala Mood for more of Jori’s amazing designs.

Rouge is in need of some patrons

As you may or may not know, the Rouge sim is a living piece of art created by Eshi Otawara. The sim itself is financed directly by sales from MechanizedLife.Com, my gears and gadget shop, located in a small portion of Rouge. However, in those difficult economic times, Rouge has grown costly to maintain, this is why we are doing this call to patrons. If you love art and if you love Rouge, here’s how you can help:

– Donate: There are little donation boxes scattered all around Rouge. Drop something in it, it’s always appreciated. You can also donate directly to CodeBastard Redgrave inworld if you can’t find a donation box.

– Buy art: My Boudoir Rouge portraits are on display all around Rouge. You can buy those unique copies of those artworks inworld, and contribute to Rouge’s tiers this way. You have the choice to keep the piece on place for display, or bring it home with you.

– Party: Want to have a very special place to celebrate your rezday or birthday, or any special occasion? You can rent Rouge for any event. It’s free, but we suggest a voluntary contribution of 5000L per night. We provide the Shoutcast stream, and you can bring your own DJ, or we can find one for you.

– Designers: Want to contribute to the fashion life of Rouge? You can design something to be sold exclusively on the Rouge sim, and take a split agreement with us, which would help for tiers contribution. Contact Gabby Panacek or CodeBastard Redgrave for such inquiries.

– Buy gears: One other way to contribute is to buy from the MechanizedLife shop on Rouge, or my Boudoir Rouge series of poses. It is one way of getting quality stuff and donating to the tiers fund.

– Regular donations: If you want to contribute to the monthly fees, please feel welcome. Any amount given on a regular basis entitles you to receive special thank you gifts from Codie. We are also thinking of a Rouge Wall of Fame to display the names of our generous donators.

Remember that Rouge is a non-profit, and exists solely for promoting SecondLife arts like photography, music, and building. We thank you in advance for your generosity.

Sushi, anyone?

What wouldn’t I do for a good cause? The SL Shakespeare Company is one of the most incredible cultural institutions in SecondLife, in scale, and by the fact it is entirely benevolent work. Representations are free, but sims don’t pay themselves, neither the thousands of hours of work Ina Centaur and everyone from the SLSC put on this project. The SLSC is there for higher learning, in a place where almost everything else is cultural fast food. If there is one educative entertainment that deserves respect and support, it is the SLSC.

And who else but Ina to ask me to do something absolutely unique and to my own knowledge never done before in SL, being a maiden Nyotaimori. Yes, I will serve as a live sushi plate, and you can come and pickup a piece, until I am completely nude. All proceeds for every piece picked up will go to the SLSC.

Please read the following press release, and hope to see you there

Shakespeare, Second Life and Skin City, Second Life-In the midst of a virtual reconstruction of Shakespeare’s Elizabethan England, an avant-garde virtual sushi restaurant named Inachi unveils its first gourmet dish. Dubbed “Nyotaimori,” the platter features an artistic arrangement of finely-priced sushi adorning the nude avatar body of virtual celebrity Codebastard Redgrave. The sum of sushi prices on this Nyotaimori reaches at about L$1,000,000; its purpose is to be dismantled by its audience as every “edible piece” of this virtual culinary sculpture is sold off in a single fundraiser to benefit the SL Shakespeare Company. The presentation opens to the public at 1 PM PDT on Saturday, March 21st at the Blackfriars Theatre.

Not surprisingly, the prolific Ina Centaur is both the founder and artist of Inachi and its Nyotaimori. As with many of Centaur’s projects, Inachi began as a hobby, “Inachi started out as a somewhat offbeat-obsessive project to document and semi-immortalize in virtual-world-3D, some of the sushi I’ve tasted. And then one day a friend showed me a picture of nyotaimori, or female body sushi. It all became clear to me that day-both the name ‘Inachi’ made sense, as well as how I might turn these sushi-Lego things I’ve created into… a feast for your eyes!”

Inachi in its most literal translation to Ina Centaur’s native Mandarin Chinese means “Ina, go eat!” But, since Centaur’s discovery of “female body sushi” last May, the translation, while still retaining its homonym, became 一拿吃 or, literally, “One Take Eat.” Centaur explains its significance, “The translation sounds flip, but I think it’s cool that the translation back to English also affords a theatrical pun. My SL Shakespeare Company project has been something I’ve been trying to raise funds for since its inception in 2007, and basically everything I do in virtual worlds goes to fund it. Also, I think the translation fits how we’ll manage to present nyotaimori as a viable artform in a very material and commercial virtual world: people will simply take (pay) and eat each piece of artful virtual sushi goodness.”

To Centaur, this Nyotaimori event is both art that represents Second Life, and a social experiment, “Art is essentially an interpretive representation of an object, in the general sense; in this case, the object is the virtual world of Second Life, and Nyotaimori is kind of like a satirical symbol of it. Inachi’s Nyotaimori recasts a nude female avatar into both culinary and ethnic art via an artistic arrangement of sushi. The individual pieces of sushi are cast in a state that will soon dissipate, as each piece is taken, just as the artful sims of Second Life are dismantled due to the decree of limited resource budgets. The avatar in this avatar body sushi presentation is famous and has media appeal, just like how Second Life has it. But, the art lives in the manifestation of its sushi, just like how Second Life wouldn’t be anything without its user-created content… The social experiment would be to see if people’d bite.” Despite its novelty and representation, Centaur is uncertain but hopeful about Nyotaimori as a means to fund inworld art, “Most of my fundraising attempts in virtual worlds have failed miserably. I hope this one is different enough to meet its goal!”

On a happier note, when asked to comment on her choice of designating Codebastard Redgrave as her maiden Nyotaimori, Centaur comments, “I think Codie is incredibly sexy, and Second Life might find it interesting to undress the sushi off her-literally!”

Official: Codie Avastar of the Year 2007 by public vote

I am so honored that you guys chose me as the Avastar of the Year 2007. I was already honored of sitting in that list with some of the most extraordinary newcomers, including people I admire greatly including RightAsRain Rimbeault, Ana Lutetia and Nicholaz Beresford among others. I’m still a bit under the shock that you guys chose me.

Now I’m getting more feedbacks about how that could happen because honestly I couldn’t believe it. Many people sent me emails and letters to tell me they encouraged my candidacy for that title through their mailing-lists, forums, groups, blogs, even Flickr threads. You people just proven me you can be sweet to the core. That just flatters me to an unimaginable level that I could influence your Second Life, be it just a tiny little bit. For me it’s a world of difference. It means that sometime, somewhere, I have tried my best to be good to people around, that all my efforts to contribute to the community in a positive way have been acknowledge. And acknowledged by you people.

I want to thank each and everyone of you. If I could do it personally, I would. I want to thanks the Avastar for nominating me with all those marvelous people. I want to thanks everyone that voted on that poll and that supported me through that stressful but enlightening process. I want to thank all the candidates for being such good sports. I want to congratulate Ana Lutetia as a Second winner and RightAsRain Rimbeault as the Third winner.

This has been my honor and pleasure to serving this amazing community in my first year. I will try to make my second year even better. I ♥♥♥ you all to bits.

Sincerely,
