Okay I know. SRSLY. Last time I blogged was probably over one month ago. I deserve the title for worst blogger of the year. Yes, I know. Thank you. If you guessed that I am god damn busy lately, congrats. You are right. It has been hell and heaven all at the same time.

I had to move from my big empty apartment to a smaller one, much better located. I’m still in boxes and decorating but it’s already feeling much better. Also, I had a major job downsizing, going down from 45h to 20h, with only one objective, take better care of myself. No wonder, having been on call for the last 8 years, 24/24, 7 days a week, have brought me to the brink of a burnout. The last 2 years have been years of abuse and neglect, recovering from a major depression, but now I can breathe a little bit and find new ways to be happy.

One of those way to my happiness is the sweet, caring, marvelous Gabby. She jumped on a plane to visit me in Montreal, and we spent a whole fantastic week, and the new year together. It goes without saying that it was probably one of the most marvelous experiences of my life. I feel blessed and so fucking lucky to have her in my life. She makes me feel so loved, cared for, and for that, I am forever thankful.

A lot of things have moved for me in SL lately. Probably the most notable thing is the acquisition of MechanizedLife from Alidar Moxie. For a long time she inspired me, enlightened me, amazed me with her fantastic creations. We were working on a joint venture called Codali, but before we had the time to get it all started, Ali grew tired of maintaining MechanizedLife and handed me the keys. So myself and Gabby have been much busy re-designing the MechanizedLife.Com website, product presentation, documentations and so on. Eshi Otawara re-vamped my old store at Rouge, added a second floor to it where we house the products. They are all for sale now on Xstreet and we are preparing a big party for the official store opening.

It has been a weird, life shifting month. Several of my favorite people departing and leaving SL. I can name Night, CeN and Alexx Markova. But also, I found out how I was surrounded with amazingly sweet and caring people all around. I need to thank all of you for your support, your unconditional love, your trust and your caring. I cherish and adore you. You all know who you are…

Much love,

Codie <3

  1. Codie, you are like the ultimate SL role model. Way to go for balancing both of your lives and continuing to express your unique lovely self in a way that’s a blessing to all of us.

  2. awwww BG! *hides face and sobs lightly* I could have named you too in the long list of my departing friends but it’s like I can feel you’re still with us *smiles and sniffles*

  3. I think that busy is a grossly understated way of describing your life, both in and out of SL, recently. But, as always, I stand amazed at the grace with which you’ve approached all of these changes, challenges and opportunities.

I do agree, though, that spending the week with you was beyond amazing. I love you more than you know and I can’t begin to explain how much you mean to me and how fortunate I am to have you in both of my lives.

We have so much ahead of us…lots of work, lots of love and an entire lifetime of happiness. xoxoxo

  4. I know how hard it is to balance things, especially with all you have, but I am so glad you somehow miraculously pull it off, because if you were on the list of people that are living or slowly disappearing, then I don’t know what I would do. I would miss you so much! You bring so much joy into my life and the lives of everyone you meet and touch! Gabby isn’t the only one who loves you, we all do!

  5. Congratulations on the reduction of hours - either on self initiative or decreed from above, it’s probably the best that could have happened to you. I do not know you well or long enough, but you always seemed to me not on the verge of burnout, but well beyond. So yes, take good care of yourself!
