FilterCam HUD Press Release
For Immediate Release
ROUGE - CodeBastard Redgrave announces the release of her latest development, the FilterCam HUD. This device, created for all Second Life photographers and machinimists, both amateur and professional, eliminates the need for post processing by allowing the user to create artistic and dynamic SL(tm) photographs through a simple to use, menu-driven HUD.
The FilterCam HUD menu features 30 preset filters, including 13 texture masks created in collaboration with noted Second Life photographer and artist, Ryker Beck. Users can also create their own, custom filter and texture effects, making the FilterCam fully customizable.
Current filter and texture masks include: blood, cinema, circle, clear, grunge, iphone, nightvision, oval, postcard, scanlines, square, tryptic, and wanted.
According to Redgrave, “Its the first customizable effect processor for SL ™ as far as i know.”
This, the first official release of the FilterCam HUD, has been thoroughly alpha tested and is now available for purchase only at the Rouge Boutique. FilterCam users are also invited to join the Flickr FilterCam Group - http://www.flickr.com/groups/filtercam/ - and post their own photographs using the FilterCam HUD.
Upgrades to the FilterCam HUD system are free and automated, and new textures and presets are in the design stages and will be added in the future.
Redgrave also notes, “I would like to thank Ryker Beck for making all of those fantastic filter masks, you, girl, seriously kick ass. Thanks to Alidar Moxie for being so brilliant and insightful. Thanks to Gabby Panacek for helping with promotion and documentation and distracting me from scripting. Thanks to all alpha testers and to everyone that contributed with ideas especially the SL Plurkies.”

Oh wow you finally released it to the wild! Will be going inworld soon to check it out! Thanks for making this!
Oh this IS a cool idea indeed! So neat, so simple, so cleverly done, but, alas, nobody has thought of it before… and that’s what ultimately counts!
Wow, awesome work. Just an idea (you know me, I always have about 50 of them) - how about creating a central server on the web to host the various filters, so people can submit UUIDs of their own textures, and having the HUD updated occasionally with new category choices, etc? I’m sure the creativity of the SL community would offer some great ideas to this, already fantastic, idea.
Regards,
-Flip
