MachinimaCam news and progress
On a quick note, the MachinimaCam sales have been more than outstanding. I sold dozens, which gives me more resources to improve it furthermore. The next brew should convince a lot of people that it was definitely worth the investment especially the customers that took the step in buying the camera in the first place.
I’m working hard toward completion of the 1.2 version of MachinimaCam HUD. There wasn’t many real bugfix but still have to fix a few minor annoyance, like the camera locking behaving oddly in some conditions. I also added auto update feature, I will test it and pass on updated cameras to everyone that bought it.
The good news is I’m working to complete half a dozen of new effects, namely PunchCam, SinewaveCam, PanCams (LR, RL, UD, DU), and I started working seriously on Facecam and Frontcam, but both effects being really hard to implement due to LSL camera limitations, I’m still not sure if I will be able to bring them in the new versions.
I’m also working on two very important improvements. The first one to complete is full camera position management integrated with all effects. That means when the camera is locked and the position memorized, using any effect should take advantage of that position as both start and end points for the camera.
The second one remains to be entirely defined, but basically I want the camera to be able to focus on any other avatar in the area. This would greatly improve the camera’s relevance as a universal machinima tool, but I have to be careful crafting the feature to avoid lag, since it requires scanning the area for other avatars.
Of course I will keep my fantastic customers posted.
