Sakura Cherry Blossoms Particle Generator

While doing one of my latest works, China Red, I got this idea that it would be fantastic to have a sakura cherry blossom particle emitter to simulate cherry flowers and blossoms floating around by the wind. So one night I was a little bored and I decided to use RL pictures of sakura blossoms and flowers, do a clean alpha channel on selected bits, export it as 13 alpha Targa files, 6 petals and 7 flowers.

Then I scripted a wearable attachment with simple voice control. There’s 3 settings: stop, low, high. Low is 5m range more concentrated particles, high gives you 10m wide of more dispersed blossoms, ideal for larger scenic shots.

The result was, at least to my own taste, very satisfying. See pictures and link to SLX product page below.
